Pope: Nurses, do not forget caresses medicine

“Don’t forget about caress medicine. That is so important. A caress, a smile is full of meaning for the sick. The gesture is simple, but it leads up. He feels accompanied, he feels close to the healing, he feels person, not a number. Do not forget”.

This is what Pope Francis said during an audience in Sala Nervi with the nurses of the Fnopi. “By caring for women and men, children and the elderly, at every stage of their lives, from birth to death, you are engaged in a continuous listening, aimed at understanding what the needs of that sick person are,” he added.
