Reception
centers for migrants
In the context of human mobility, missionary action builds up
community, strengthens relationships, networks, lives and interacts in the
Church. When injustice, exclusion and poverty affect migrants’ lives,
missionary action becomes a cry and an impassioned struggle. It often turns
into a work of sensitization and the creation of information and action networks
in order to strengthen and provide far-sightedness to projects and objectives to
be attained, collaboration in solidarity where migrants of different
nationalities and local people unite to become the protagonists of their own
history.
MSCS Sisters are currently present and providing an effective
presence among the various categories of migrant. They work in orientation and
guidance centers, documentation centers, and listening centers for orphans,
street children, adolescents, young people, women, refugees, migrants, displaced
people, deportees, tourists and people of the sea.
They are a prophetic presence, a sign of life and hope, an
inspiration of new responses faithful to the Scalabrinian charism, as well as
helping to make people aware of the phenomenon of migration through projects
promoting migrants, as well as welfare projects in the community health sphere,
social and educational projects, and professional training projects.
